As China faces many difficulties in its coal mining, such as the complex geological condition, various potential disaster sources, harsh environment under coal mine, the researchers studied the geological structure of coal mine, put forward the theory and technology about the high resolution earth physical detection for disaster source, successfully developed the series of apparatus and equipment for the detection of the complex coal mine geological structure and the disaster source. Through the field application, they created the whole set of method and technology for the coal mine physical prospecting of different under-pit geological missions. The apparatuses and equipment mainly include the mine-use intrinsic safety type ground detection radar series, mine multi-wave seismograph, mine transient electromagnetic meter, mine pre-warning system for dynamic disaster source, etc.
Major innovative scientific contributions:
(1) The series of mine explosion-proof geological radar has been designed and developed, realizing the effective detection for the potential disaster sources within 50 meters ahead of the drilling position, 30 meters up and down from the roof and bottom of the roadway and the area 400-meters far from the working face, with a detection accuracy >0.5 meter.
(2) The equipment and technology for precise seismic detection in mine geological structure has been developed, realizing the effective detection for the fault and abnormal object 100-150 meters ahead of the drilling face, and more than 500 meters far in the directions around the road way, with the detection accuracy >1 meter.
(3) The equipment and method of mine transient electromagnetic detection has been developed, realizing the detection for the abnormal hydrous object 20-100 meters ahead.
(4) The equipment system of mine pre-warning for dynamic disaster source has been designed and developed, realizing the accurate orientation of its spatial location (with the accuracy<20 -50 meters), and the intelligent identification of its nature, and thus to support the decision making and timely warning.
